Pokémon Go’s April 2022 Community Day focuses on Stufful, the normal-type cuddly Pokémon from Alola. Stufful Community Day will feature a heavily increased spawn rate for Stufful, with increased chances to find Shiny versions of it, as well as special moves for its evolution Bewear to learn.
Our Pokémon Go Stufful Community Day guide explains how to find Shiny Stufful, Bewear’s meta relevance, and how to make the most of your Community Day.
The Community Day event takes place on April 23, 2022 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. in your local time.
As usual with all Community Days, you can buy a special Stufful Community Day ticket for $1 to unlock extra Special Research Tasks that reward more Stufful and candy.
How do I find a Shiny Stufful?
Community Day events have a heightened Shiny rate for the featured Pokémon, so if you’re playing, you should be able to find several Shiny Stufful.
If you don’t have time to play all day, you can find a Shiny Stufful by popping an Incense, and tapping each Stufful that pops up. The Shiny rate on Community Days is approximately 1 in 25, according to The Silph Road’s research, so you should find a Shiny Stufful quickly.

What Community Day move does Stufful’s evolution learn?
When evolved from Stufful into Bewear on April 23 from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. in your local time, Bewear learns the charged attack Drain Punch.
Based on past years, if you miss the Community Day period, you’ll likely be able to evolve your Stufful during the December Community Weekend event to get its move. You can also use an Elite TM to teach legacy Community Day-only moves.
How does Bewear do in battle?
In PvP, Bewear is a complex investment due to its 400-candy requirement to evolve. Silph Road Analyst JRE47 notes that Bewear isn’t the best in PvP, but there are some categories it can be used in. You can see their full analysis on The Silph Road subreddit.
Bewear sadly isn’t worth raising for gyms or raids, as there are plenty of great fighting-type attackers out there who don’t need as much of an investment, like Machamp.
How do I make the most of Stufful Community Day?
During the Community Day event period, catch XP will be tripled. This means that you can rake in XP by using Lucky Eggs if you plan on catching a ton of Stufful. Incense and Lures will last for three hours as well, so you should use those to increase your Stufful spawns even further.
If you have the resources to Mega Evolve a Lopunny or Pidgeot, you’ll also get one extra Stufful Candy per catch, which can come in clutch since Stufful requires a whopping 400 candy to evolve. Catch candy has also been doubled during the event period, which should help ease the horror of getting 400 candy in three hours.
