Pokémon Go is hosting its yearly Halloween event, focusing on ghost-type Pokémon and boosting candy gains (as it should during this time of year).

The first leg of the event runs from Oct. 20-27. After this, a second part of the event will run from Oct. 27 until Nov. 1.

During the event period, all candy obtained from catching, hatching, and transferring Pokémon is doubled. If you buy the “Halloween Timed Research Ticket” in the shop for $4.99, the candy gains will be tripled instead. This research also rewards Spiritomb and the special Halloween lantern pose for your trainer.

Additionally, part 1 of the event included a higher chance to hatch a Shiny Noibat, which is available for the first time.

Shiny and regular Noibat and Noivern. Both Shiny forms go from purple and black to green, black, and red

Galarian Yamask, which is featured in many of this event’s Timed and Special Research, is also available Shiny for the first time.

Special versions of Vulpix, Ninetails, Gengar, Pumpkaboo, and Gourgeist in Halloween outfits are also dropping with the second part of the event. If you’re lucky, you may find Shiny versions of these Pokémon.

Opening the game during this event will permanently unlock the “Mysterious Masks” Special Research Tasks, which reward both types of Yamask and Yamask Candy. Buying the 99 cent “Yamask Timed Research Ticket” will reward heaps more of both Yamask just for catching ghost-type Pokémon.

Mega Banette is also making its debut in Mega Raids and Altered Forme Giratina is appearing in raids with the move Shadow Force in the first half of the event. The second half of the event featured Origin Forme Giratina with Shadow Force.

We list out all the Special Research Tasks and bonuses below.
